CIMC Group profit increases by 146 percent - cimc group
In the first three quarters of 2026, the Group’s cumulative sales volume of reefer containers reached 152,600 TEUs, driven by fruit transportation demand from South America.

China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. (CIMC Group) announced its unaudited results for the first three quarters of 2026, with net profit attributable to shareholders increasing by 146.40% year on year to RMB708 million in the third quarter. The Group’s revenue reached RMB47.9 billion in the third quarter, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.91% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 3.57%.

The significant growth in the third quarter was mainly driven by the continued contribution from offshore engineering and clean energy-related businesses, as well as the recovery in sales volume and prices in the container manufacturing business in the second half of the year. Offshore engineering orders on hand exceeded US$10 billion, with newly signed orders amounting to US$5.7 billion in the first three quarters, including US$2.5 billion secured in the third quarter.

Offshore Engineering and Container Manufacturing

The Group signed its second FLNG EPC turnkey contract with Golar, as well as orders for multiple pure car and truck carriers, while advancing large-scale capacity expansion at its oil and gas bases. In the container manufacturing business, sales volume of dry cargo containers in the third quarter reached 0.92 million TEUs, representing a year-on-year increase of 35% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 35%.

The recovery in sales volume and prices in the container manufacturing business was driven by constrained effective capacity and low vessel turnaround efficiency in the container shipping sector, which boosted demand for containers.
